It's almost Friday!

Some students in the class are getting confused in Math between changing an improper fraction to a mixed or whole number and reducing a fraction. Remember that reducing is done with proper fractions only when they have a common factor besides one. With an improper fraction the denominator is divided into the numerator and the remainder is written as a fraction if there is one. Please practice these so that it can be done quickly. We are going over this every day in class and now we have started with least common denominator so that throws something else new. I am going to make a study sheet for all of this to give out next week, to hopefully eliminate and clear up the confusion. Please do not lose it because this study sheet can be used on the tests when we are doing fraction problems. Next week we have the last test for this quarter in Math and these things will be on it so practice. Use the supplemental pages in the back of the book if you need or make up some proper and improper fractions to reduce and divide.
